The Central Coast of California has banned plastic bags in an effort to be more sustainable.  When I eat at restaurants and as I visit the other towns nearby, I notice the restaurants are not sustainable because they are still using Styrofoam to-go containers.  Some restaurants are still bringing glasses of water to you whether you want it or not.

To be more sustainable they should not be serving water unless a customer requests it and they should not be using Styrofoam.  There are many biodegradable containers that can be used for to-go food. Businesses need to take the next step to be more sustainable and to do the right thing.  They are getting closer to being green but why not take it all the way?

I’m tempted to start writing to these restaurants and tell them.  Now that I just wrote that I feel even more compelled to do just that.  Do you think they will actually read the letter, will it prompt them to take the next step?  One can hope and it is worth a try.  I will report back and let you know if I receive any response.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
